Building a home together– while it may be super stressful– can also be one of the most fun couple’s activities in a lifetime of life, love and laughter. If you’re currently building a house, this 10-step blueprint might give you some tips. But more importantly…if you’re married, reading today’s post showing how building a house is like building a marriage could help strengthen your relationship. And if you’re married AND building a house together with your significant other... God help you ('cuz that ish can be stressful).
The discussion with your future spouse about a non-diamond engagement ring can be a tough conversation when society has a certain expectation but you want to do something different. We call it being "between a rock and a hard place". This article will provide a few ideas and resources to help couples talk through the options for a non-mined-diamond alternative. Just as you can create your own wedding experience, you can choose an engagement ring that actually reflects your values-- individually and as a couple. And if you do it together, it's a great test-drive of many future values-driven decisions a marriage will be better off for if a couple makes together.
In good times, happy couples laugh off trivial issues and petty annoyances with their partner. When things are going well, she’d feel silly to get too angry about his socks left on the bathroom counter, his beard stubble in the sink, or accidentally touching her tush to the cold porcelain in the middle of the night because he left the toilet seat up again.  During trying times, her comment about which way to drive and get there faster is perceived as a personal attack, her wet towel on the carpet might cause him to yell with frustration, and her every failing might be magnified a hundredfold and become a relationship-defining ultimatum.  In the rough times, healthy communication between partners breaks down, and once-ready-to-forgive attitudes become so much more difficult to maintain. That’s why we say that every happily married person can answer this ONE question.
Some people are so passionate about tacos, pizza, burgers or fried chicken that a few famous fast food chains now host weddings and offer special wedding catering packages.  When it comes to planning the nuptials, where to tie that knot is one of the most important decisions. It’s perfectly understandable that a married-couple-to-be is gonna want the perfect venue to spend a fantastic day with the peeps they love the most.  For some brides, the perfect venue is a fast food restaurant. One couple’s Taco Bell-themed wedding plan called for saying their vows in a Las Vegas cantina “chapel” surrounded by their loved ones, as the bride holds a bouquet of Taco Bell sauce packets. Ahhh, the tacos may be gone…but for the Ryckerts the memories last forever.
Today’s blog post will be a Godsend if you’ve been thinking over how to talk with your significant other about an important but tough-to-tackle topic you keep avoiding. That’s because a movie that shows and tells a certain topic in a powerful way can be a PERFECT conversational opener for her to talk to him-- or vice versa-- about that topic in a non-threatening and totally natural way.
Here’s one man’s story of why I felt marriage was stupid...and as vehemently opposed to the idea...why for a long decade I was hesitant to get married (even for years after I found the woman who was the yin to my yang)... Plus the FOUR factors that radically changed me to NOW…when I believe that: Soulmates exist. Marriage is a commitment worth making (with the right person). A good marriage is a truly great thing. The right spouse can be an invaluable partner in the life you want to build. While no one is perfect, we are each perfect for someone.Should you or someone you know read this?

Have you ever heard of the "wedding tax"? It basically means that once a service provider, venue, product seller or renter hears the word "wedding", they charge more. Much more.Almost every product and service provider does this...but here's three places where something for your wedding will actually be cheaper in 2018 than it was 5 years ago in 2013.
I had a lot of reservations about 1) buying a quality CZ (especially online), 2) buying any type of jewelry sight unseen and 3) getting the design I wanted without paying the high price for custom jewelry. I did extensive research, both online and in jewelry stores. I knew what size stone and cut I wanted for the engagement ring but I didn't see any wedding bands on the site that grabbed my attention. I sent an email with a pic attached of one I had found online and asked if it could be replicated.Woohoo! I'm so excited!
