Yes, we can custom cut cubic zirconia stones for you in practically any shape or size you want.

Center stones, melee/accent stones, tiny cubic zirconia stones and ultra-huge ones so big that their primary use isn't in jewelry but art, architecture and novelty products...when it comes to custom cutting high-quality cubic zirconia stones, we can do all that and more. This blog post provides details and instructions to purchase this custom CZ stone cutting service.

If you're pretty sure what you want in terms of shape and size, go ahead and purchase the service that describes what you most want to get done using the link provided below. If not, take a read over your options here on this page and give us a call/email. To discuss, you can call our toll free number U.S. 1-888-355-2484 during business hours 10am-8pm EST or email us to tell us about your custom-shaped and sized cubic zirconia order inquiry.

Custom stone cutting for cubic zirconia stones will take a bit more time and cost more than a popular shape and size combination such as those popular loose cubic zirconia stones we always have in stock ready to ship within 48 hours...but it is possible, and we're happy to help you with your custom cutting needs pursuant to a couple conditions we'll explain here in this post.

First, please be aware that unlike the loose stones we have on hand and in stock, custom-cut cubic zirconia stones will have a longer turnaround time -- usually 15-28 days once we are clear with you on the measurements you want.

Second, we want to make sure you get the correct size cubic zirconia stone to fit your needs. For our online store, you should know that all of our cubic zirconia stones are measured and sold with a “diamond carat weight equivalent” size in addition to the millimeter dimensions (see our cubic zirconia size carat weight chart for full details).

Third, custom cutting means anything outside of those popular, often-needed and purchased stones not ready-to-buy on our website

Fourth, for precision's sake, we are going to get the exact millimeter dimensions you want before we start making your custom stone(s)-- but don't worry if you don't know that exactly when you first contact us, because we can figure it out together.

Fifth, in order to protect the time and sanity of our staff--  and since we are pretty much the only reputable U.S. company offering such a service-- we require a deposit to exchange more than two emails about our custom cubic zirconia stone cutting service and your needs/desires. We’ll answer your first question but after that we will ask for a deposit to be paid before talking further. We refer to this as a non-refundable custom cutting fee, and you'll be asked to pay whichever is the most relevant of the custom cutting deposit fees for existing services.

Sixth, the second custom CZ large stone or second package of 1000 melee/accent stones in any larger custom cutting order will be much cheaper than the first stone/package, because the custom cutting fee is paid once.

There are seven types of custom stone-cutting services we most often provide:

1. Standard Shape with Non-Standard Size  12 mm --

This is an Up to 12 mm SIZE modification to a popular SHAPE we already make and sell on our website (see our FAQ What shapes of cubic zirconia stones are available in your store?” question for applicable shapes)

For example, you notice that we sell a princess/square cut 5A cubic zirconia stone of 9.5 x 9.5 mm for less than US$50. You want instead to have a stone that is perfectly sized to 9.28 x 9.28 mm. We can do that.

COST: a non-refundable US$40 "custom cutting fee" plus the cost of the stone or stones. For this custom cutting fee to apply, the shape of the stone just needs to be a shape we already make and sell on our website.

The stone cost for non-standard sized stones will be based on the nearest shape/size merchandised on our site plus a small 20% custom premium (e.g. in the scenario above the price of the 9.5 mm princess cut standard stone). As of writing that cost is $48.89 for the standard 9.5 mm princess cut stone mentioned in the example scenario. So your custom 9.28 mm stone will cost $98.67 for the first stone [($48.89 x 1.20) + $40].

Note: You can buy as few as one custom cut cubic zirconia center stone (and to our knowledge, we're the only reputable American company offering that service). The second custom CZ large stone in any larger order will be much cheaper, because the custom cutting fee is paid once. For wholesale orders of many size-modified custom cubic zirconia stones, bulk discounts do apply on stone(s) cost per unit, but all orders begin with the $40 custom cutting deposit).

2. Standard Shape with Non-Standard Size 12 mm and ≤ 50 mm --

This is a greater than 12 mm but 50 mm or smaller SIZE modification to a popular SHAPE we already make and sell on our website (see our FAQ What shapes of cubic zirconia stones are available in your store?” question for applicable shapes). These custom cubic zirconia stone sizes are much bigger than the biggest 12 mm size we stock due to its popularity and common use in our own finished jewelry.

For example, you notice that the biggest princess/square cut 5A cubic zirconia stone we stock on our website is 6 carat (10.5 x 10.5 mm). You want instead to have a stone that is much bigger (33 mm square). We can do that.

COST: a non-refundable US$75 "custom cutting fee" plus the cost of the stone or stones. For this custom cutting fee to apply, the shape of the stone just needs to be a shape we already make and sell on our website.

The stone cost for non-standard sized stones will be based on the nearest shape/size merchandised on our site plus a 50% custom premium (e.g. in the scenario above the price of the 10.5 mm princess cut standard stone). As of writing that cost is $70.63 for the standard 10.5 mm princess cut stone mentioned in the example scenario. So your custom 33 mm stone will cost $180.95 for the first stone [($70.63 x 1.50) + $75].

That's not just the price for the example 33 mm; 13mm, 15mm, 18.4 mm, 20 mm, 30 mm, 31.2 mm, 40 mm, 43.7 mm, 50 mm etc anywhere in that range from above 12 mm up to 50 mm, whether an odd number or even number is going to cost the same for the first stone.

Note: You can buy as few as one "huge" custom cut cubic zirconia stone (and to our knowledge, we're the only reputable American company offering that service). The second custom CZ large stone in any larger order will be much cheaper, because the custom cutting fee is paid once. For wholesale orders of many 12mm-50mm standard-shape custom cubic zirconia stones, bulk discounts do apply on stone(s) cost per unit, but all orders begin with the $75 custom cutting deposit).

3. Standard Shape with Non-Standard Size > 50 mm and ≤ 100 mm --

This is a greater than 50 mm and up to 100 mm SIZE modification to a popular SHAPE we already make and sell on our website (see our FAQ What shapes of cubic zirconia stones are available in your store?” question for applicable shapes). These gigantic custom cubic zirconia stone sizes are much bigger than the biggest 12 mm size we stock due to its popularity and common use in our own finished jewelry, and also much bigger than the 12mm-50mm stones priced above.

For example, you notice that the biggest princess/square cut 5A cubic zirconia stone we stock on our website is 6 carat (10.5 x 10.5 mm). You want instead to have a stone that is much, much, MUCH bigger (100 mm square). We can do that.

COST: a non-refundable US$150 "custom cutting fee" plus the cost of the stone or stones. For this custom cutting fee to apply, the shape of the stone just needs to be a shape we already make and sell on our website.

The stone cost for non-standard sized stones will be based on the nearest shape/size merchandised on our site plus a 100% custom premium (e.g. in the scenario above the price of the 10.5 mm princess cut standard stone). As of writing that cost is $70.63 for the standard 10.5 mm princess cut stone mentioned in the example scenario. So your custom 100 mm stone will cost $291.26 for the first stone [($70.63 x 2.0) + $150].

That's not just the price for the example 100 mm; 53mm, 65mm, 68.4 mm, 70 mm, 80 mm, 81.2 mm, 90 mm, 93.7 mm, 99 mm etc anywhere in that range from above 50 mm up to 100 mm whether an odd number or even number is going to cost the same for the first stone.

Note: You can buy as few as one "huge" custom cut cubic zirconia stone (and to our knowledge, we're the only reputable American company offering that service). The second custom CZ large stone in any larger order will be much cheaper, because the custom cutting fee is paid once. For wholesale orders of many 50mm-100mm standard-shape custom cubic zirconia stones, bulk discounts do apply on stone(s) cost per unit, but all orders begin with the $75 custom cutting deposit).

4. Non-Standard Shape with Any Size ≤ 50 mm --

This is an up to 50 mm SIZE custom cubic zirconia stone in any shape OTHER THAN the popular SHAPES we already make and sell on our website (see our FAQ What shapes of cubic zirconia stones are available in your store?” question for applicable shapes). These unique-shaped custom cubic zirconia stone sizes are much less frequently asked for than the 12-15 shapes whose popularity and common use in our own finished jewelry means we make them regularly and keep them in stock.

Examples of custom CZ stone shapes that aren’t common and aren’t something we stock for immediate shipment, but that we can make and sell you include: Briolette cut, Cabochon style, Checker Cut, Checkerboard cut, Christian “cross” cut, Cushion emerald cut, Double Flat style, Elongated cushion cut, Elongated pear cut, Flat Back, Hexagon cut, Millennium cut, Pentagon cutPentamid designPyramid shape, Radiant square cut, Radiant oval cut, Round double cut, Round step cut, Round vortex, Scissor cut, Stop sign octagon shape, Sunflower shape, or Teardrop shape.

It would be impossible for us to list an estimated price for any possible shape, but it will be based on a small premium above standard shapes. If unsure, please contact us for details prior to purchase of the "custom cutting fee" product for these non-standard shapes.

Note: You can buy as few as one "non-standard shape" custom cut cubic zirconia stone (and to our knowledge, we're the only reputable American company offering that service). The second custom CZ large stone in any larger order will be much cheaper, because the custom cutting fee is paid once. For wholesale orders of many "non-standard shape" custom cubic zirconia stones, bulk discounts do apply on stone(s) cost per unit, but all orders for non-standard shapes up to 50 mm begin with the $100 custom cutting deposit).

5. Non-Standard Shape with Size > 50 mm and ≤ 100 mm --

These super-huge unique-shaped custom cubic zirconia stone sizes are much less frequently asked for than the 12-15 shapes whose popularity and common use in our own finished jewelry means we make them regularly and keep them in stock.

COST: a non-refundable US$200 "custom cutting fee" plus the cost of the stone or stones. It would be impossible for us to list an estimated price for any possible shape, but it will be based on a small premium above standard shapes. If unsure, please contact us for details prior to purchase of the "custom cutting fee" product for these non-standard shapes.

Note: You can buy as few as one huge "non-standard shape" custom cut cubic zirconia stone (and to our knowledge, we're the only reputable American company offering that service). The second custom CZ large stone in any larger order will be much cheaper, because the custom cutting fee is paid once. For wholesale orders of many huge "non-standard shape" custom cubic zirconia stones, bulk discounts do apply on stone(s) cost per unit, but all orders for non-standard shapes from 50mm-100mm begins with the $200 custom cutting deposit).

6. Melee/Accent Stones (Round, Non-Standard Sizes) --

We stock the most commonly requested round cut melee/accent stones and can ship them to you immediately. This is an order for round-cut melee/accent stones from 0.75 to 3.50 mm to be custom cut in a non-standard "in-between" size not regularly sold as a "stock" item on our website.

For example, you notice that we sell 1000 round-cut melee/accent stones of 1.50 mm for US$23.99-- among the the most commonly used and purchased round cut cubic zirconia melee stones we make and sell.  But instead of that product, you want to buy 1000 round-cut stones that are 1.55 mm instead. We can do that.

COST: a non-refundable US$100 "custom cutting fee" plus the cost of the stone or stones. For this custom cutting fee to apply, the size of the round melee stone(s) you want to buy just needs to be smaller than 3.50 mm down to a minimum of 0.75 mm smallest size we make.

The per-unit stone cost for non-standard sized and/or non-round melee/accent stones will be based on the nearest size merchandised in round cut melee on our site (e.g. in the scenario above the price of the desired-quantity package for round-cut melee/accent stones). As of writing that cost is $23.99 for the standard 1.5 mm round cut melee/accent stones in a package of 1000 mentioned in the example scenario. So your custom cut order of 1000 round-cut stones of 1.55 mm will cost $123.99 for the first 1000 stones [$23.99 + $100].

Note: You can buy as few as 1000 custom cut cubic zirconia melee/accent stones (and to our knowledge, we're the only reputable American company offering that service). The second thousand melee/accent stones in any larger order will be much cheaper, because the custom cutting fee is paid once. For wholesale orders of tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands and millions of custom round melee cubic zirconia stones, bulk discounts do apply on stone(s) cost per unit, but all orders for non-standard round melee sizes begin with the $100 custom cutting deposit).

7. Melee/Accent Stones (Any Size, Different Shape than Round) --

We stock and can immediately ship round-cut melee only, which is the most commonly requested and used in most jewelry lines. This is an order for melee/accent stones in any size from 0.75 to 3.50 mm in any shape other than round-cut.

For example, you notice that we sell 1000 round-cut melee/accent stones of 1.50 mm for US$23.99-- among the the most commonly used and purchased round cut cubic zirconia melee stones we sell on our website.  But instead of that product, you want to buy 1000 of the 1.5 mm size for another melee shape (e.g. princess cut melee, radiant cut melee, baguette melee, emerald cut melee and more). We can do that.

COST: a non-refundable US$100 "custom cutting fee" plus the cost of the stone or stones. For this custom cutting fee to apply, the size of the melee stone(s) you want to buy just needs to be smaller than 3.50 mm down to a minimum of 0.75 mm smallest size we make.

The per-unit stone cost for non-round melee/accent stones will be based on the nearest size merchandised in round cut melee on our site plus a 50% custom premium (e.g. in the scenario above the price of the desired-quantity package for round-cut melee/accent stones). As of writing that cost is $23.99 for the standard 1.5 mm round cut melee/accent stones in a package of 1000 mentioned in the example scenario. So your custom cut order of 1000 non-round-shaped melee/accent stones package will cost $147.98 for the first 1000 stones [($23.99 x 1.50) + $100].

Note: You can buy as few as 1000 custom cut cubic zirconia melee/accent stones (and to our knowledge, we're the only reputable American company offering that service for radiant cut melee, emerald cut melee, baguette cut melee, princess cut melee and more). The second thousand melee/accent stones in any larger order will be much cheaper, because the custom cutting fee is paid once. For wholesale orders of tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands and millions of non-round custom cubic zirconia melee/accent stones, bulk discounts do apply on stone(s) cost per unit, but all orders begin with the $100 custom cutting deposit).

There is, however one other kind of order you'll definitely need to contact us before making.

8. Standard/Non-Standard Shape with Non-Standard Size > 100 mm --

There really isn't any upper limit on how big we can make custom-cut cubic zirconia stones. For orders above 100 mm, whether it's a "standard" shape or something else, we'd prefer to offer pricing on a case-by-case basis instead of trying to put rules or prices here on the website. Please contact us for details rather than using the purchase links provided for smaller custom-cut CZ stones.

Wholesale/Bulk Considerations:

Regarding our wholesale customers that need a bunch of custom-cut CZ stones in a certain size/shape combination, custom-cutting is really not that much more expensive than a purchase of in-stock stones. Bulk discounts are available for custom cut CZ stones (the cost per stone goes rapidly down after the first custom cut CZ center stone or package of 1000 custom accent/melee stones-- an order for either of which includes the non-refundable custom cutting fee).

However, all orders for custom cutting of cubic zirconia stones in unique sizes and shapes begins with the relevant custom cutting deposit being paid. There are no exceptions. Custom cutting stones based on sketches and verbal descriptions from a customer is a labor-intensive process, and often involves dozens of emails back and forth before everyone is on the same page...and we don’t work for free! :)

Once you have purchased a given size/shape via custom-cutting, we keep all the necessary files, documentation and machine-tooling required to make your order again in the future-- so you can and will have pricing much cheaper per-unit on future orders.

I Just Need One/Few:

Don’t need a bunch? If you are a non-jeweler “regular person” and just need one or a few stones, you may find custom-stone cutting to be cost-prohibitive. We’re happy to do it for you. Please understand, however, that custom cutting stones based on sketches and verbal descriptions from a customer is a labor-intensive process, and often involves dozens of emails back and forth before everyone is on the same page...and we don’t work for free! :) With a deposit paid we will be happy to talk about making you just one stone if that’s all you need.

Important note: Before you pay a premium to have us custom cut a stone for your jewelry, are you sure that a regular "in-stock" stone from our website won't do? Most jewelry is made with a 0.2 mm tolerance on either side and so a setting designed for “X” mm stone such as diamond, sapphire or what have you can accommodate a replacement stone that is 0.2 mm bigger or 0.2 mm smaller without any trouble.

So for example, if you lost an 8.2 mm round cut diamond then you could replace it easily with an 8.00 mm cubic zirconia stone from our company (2 carat diamond equivalent). However, without examining the jewelry itself we would not recommend trying to replace the original stone with an 8.50 mm cubic zirconia stone from our company (2.25 carat diamond equivalent) because that is a 0.3 mm difference and more than the standard 0.2 mm tolerance.

If you need help determining the correct size for your cubic zirconia stone needs, just contact us and we’ll happily give you some tips (to include measuring with calipers, sending the jewelry piece to us, or looking at any grading report or certification for the ring’s original stone).

We the team at CubicZirconia.com look forward to serving your custom cubic zirconia stone needs. If you’re ready to hire us for custom stone cutting, start the process here.
