“How good are [y]our computer CAD jewelry-design experts in designing custom cubic zirconia jewelry, anyway?"

TLDR: Good enough that we've laughingly been accused of brain hacking.

Normally, we get inquiries for a fast, free and firm price quote on high-quality custom cubic zirconia jewelry with a couple pictures and a written description provided by the man or lady considering hiring our company-- and that’s all we need to get started with the computer CAD phase of our custom jewelry design process where our talented CAD design team take the images, sketches and/or written description provided by a custom jewelry customer-- as well as his/her specific verbal instructions, and creates a series of 360 degree digital design image renderings of the ring or other jewelry piece to be custom made.

In other cases…we don’t have so much to work with-- too often from heartbroken diamond jewelry customers whose original piece was lost or stolen-- and they hadn't taken the jeweler-recommended step beforehand to record the piece in pictures/video and written dimensions.

The answer to a recent contact form submission asking "How good are [y]our computer CAD jewelry-design experts?” explains how we still get the job done without the admittedly-creepy ability of being able to hack our customers' brains (of which we've laughingly been accused). And it's all because we don't stop until we hear our customer say: “That’s it! Yes! Right there! Yes, just like that!

Here are a few facts about the team you may be interested to learn, especially if you have considered or are now considering a possible project to hire our team to make custom jewelry:

  • Our jewelry CAD team members have a minimum of 7 years of experience.

  • Every job Brian or Deepak from our CAD team completes gives our customers confidence in the process.

  • These expert CAD artists are trained to provide different image angles as well as technical weight, length, width, and stone diameter measurements when rendering or “mocking up” a ring or other jewelry design.

(that CAD image rendering package is the whole digital “ball of wax” that, pun intended, will be used to create the wax mold we’ll feed into the machines to help actually manufacture the ring by the wax pattern)

Here's an example of a recent two ring set

After a bit of work from our team, even a simple text description from the prospective customer can become the backbone of creating something great during the CAD revision process.

We know it’s not easy to increase your trust for that first, sight-unseen purchase of jewelry over the Internet. That’s part of why what these gents do really gives our custom jewelry customers a chance to “see, touch and feel” their purchase-- before taking the risk to pay up front for the whole custom jewelry order.

Was the customer pleased to receive the finished product (pictured above?)

She certainly was!

Some projects are easier for our CAD artists to complete than others.

“That’s it! Yes! Right there! Yes, just like that!”

Truth is, the more information we start with, the easier and faster it is for our custom jewelry team to show the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd draft CAD mockup design and get the coveted That’s it! Yes, make it just like that!reaction from our customer.

But even if there are no pictures and it’s a situation of trying to read the customer’s mind, I have faith in our team’s ability to get it done. So if someone has held back asking us for a free custom jewelry price quote in the past-- because he/she didn’t have any pictures of the desired design-- or hadn’t found any “inspired by” visuals to share-- we hope they’d consider doing it now.

I promise that our custom jewelry team can take even the most abstract jewelry design idea-- such as no more than a customer’s memories-- and transform the vague into a concrete design so well you'd think we’re able to hack our way into your head to learn what you really want!

We can’t hack your brain though.

     That would be trés creepy.

It’s just that over the course of conversations with you, a few draft revisions by our CAD designers-- and a stiff cocktail or two for me-- we can zero in on what it was you wanted but may not have initially had the words to describe.

Just FYI it’s the draft revision and approval process with the customer where we make sure the finished piece will come out exactly like the customer wants it

Whatever design elements you want to include in your ring or other jewelry design, our custom jewelry team can work with our CAD artists and bring the look of that to life for you to review and comment on or offer suggestions for improvement.

In fact, during the entire process of designing your jewelry, you will be in full control.

Do you want to make the ring’s center stone bigger? You got it! Do you want to make the band wider? Sure thing! Do you want to make the earring stud’s center stone setting higher and more pronounced? We can do that! Do you want the jewelry metal to be a combination of white and yellow gold? That's possible!

If you can think of it, we'll find a way to make it happen.

Of course, we've been doing this for years now so we have a wealth of knowledge as to what elements will work and which ones won't. So you can expect us to provide expert advice every now and then. For example, a ring design that calls for a large center stone setting but with a narrow and thin band...in our experience, that's a design unfortunately prone to getting damaged over a lifetime of daily wear (regardless of how well-made). So we’d advise you against anything desired that isn’t smart-- and provide you with options you can choose from.

The bottom line is - with our Design-Your-Own-Jewelry Program, you can enjoy a ring that's 100% designed by you and worn by you.

Heck, with our “Naming Rights Program” you can even name the ring after yourself!

Our goal is simple with our custom jewelry program’s 100% Satisfaction Guarantee: the product delivered through our custom jewelry service always works out the way the customer wants...even if we don’t nail it on the first, second or third “draft”.

And since we don't begin manufacturing until a custom jewelry buyer is completely satisfied, gives written consent and approves the most recent CAD draft, sometimes that means Brian or Deepak has to do a few drafts.  And it means my team and I may be up for a bunch of messages and phone calls with the customer until he/she is sure we’ve got it right.

Don't worry...that's what we get paid for!  While other jewelers will charge by the hour for this kind of work, we don't limit the CAD revisions1. Instead, we encourage custom jewelry customers to ask questions and be vocal during the CAD design process.

I think this policy of ours is especially important for someone that’s lost a cherished and sentimental diamond jewelry piece...and they’re hoping we can recreate a more affordable but still top-quality cubic zirconia replica.

Here to serve and help make your custom jewelry dreams come true, when you're ready!

We do not set a limit on CAD image design revisions -- we will do as many rounds of revisions as it takes to get it right. And as long as the requested changes are within the scope of the original design these revisions are done with no additional charge. While we don’t expressly limit CAD revisions, after many years of doing this we do believe 1-4 attempts is enough to satisfy 99% of customers-- indeed just about all who can be satisfied. That in mind, we do reserve the seldom-exercised right to add an additional charge on custom jewelry CAD revisions past 4 attempts, if we feel our time is being abused or the customer is insisting on changes outside the scope of what is reasonable.
